Hello, I’m Jarkko, a software engineer. I want to solve problems using as little software as possible.
I’ve been writing software professionally for over a decade. During that time, I’ve developed systems for various sectors, including utilities, security, and critical infrastructure. I also spent a short time in software consulting, but I didn’t enjoy it very much. Currently, I’m working in the banking sector.
I have experience working on backend, frontend, and mobile applications using different languages and technologies. I try to avoid limiting myself too much to specific technology stacks, but I’ve worked mostly in the Python and Java ecosystems.
My passion lies in building great products, promoting collaboration, improving work processes, and driving automation. I draw a lot of inspiration from Extreme Programming. The people who formulated it got a lot of things right. I’m particularly fond of test-driven development.
